Job Title: Lab Technician I - Computational Neurobiology Laboratory
Status: Regular Part Time

Laboratory/Department: Computational Neurobiology Laboratory
The long range goal of the lab is to build computational bridges between brain levels from the biophysical properties of synapses to the function of neural systems. The central issues being addressed are how dendrites integrate synaptic signals in neurons, how neural circuits generate behavior, and how learning and sleep adaptively modify these circuits.
Position Description:

The Lab Tech I position, under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), provides support to ongoing computational data analysis projects.

Education:

Required:

  • Undergraduate coursework in Computer Science.

Preferred:

  • Undergraduate coursework in Biology or Neuroscience.
Experience:

Required:

  • Project based experience with Python and/or Matlab programming.

Preferred:

  • Project based experience with R and bash programming.
Special Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on research needs and deadlines.
  • Successful completion of the Institute‚Äôs background investigation.
Physical Requirements:

This position requires constant seeing, reasoning, analyzing, communicating and working inside.
